Join Kevin Scully for a painting break in South West Cornwall. We will be based in the award-winning Budock Vean Hotel, situated on a quiet bend of the tranquil Helford River nestling in 65 acres of glorious gardens, woodlands and its own golf course – The Budock Vean is a sanctuary for rest and relaxation.
Weather permitting we will be painting ‘en plein air’ at different locations in this beautiful and inspiring part of Cornwall. One day will be spent painting by the river, which is just a short stroll away through the hotel grounds.
The week begins on Sunday evening with welcoming drinks before dinner so that everyone can get to know each other and discuss what they hope to achieve during the week.
Tuition in all mediums will be catered for, so please bring whatever materials you will need including a folding chair or stool, and an easel if you like to use one.
The holiday is for painters of all levels of experience, and as there will be a small number on the trip, everyone will be guaranteed plenty of attention and encouragement.
We will leave our hotel each day at around 9.30am and return at approximately 4.30pm.
All guests on the painting holiday have free use of the hotel’s facilities, which include an indoor swimming pool. There is plenty to do and see in the area so non-painting partners are welcome to join the group at the various locations, or take advantage of other available activities, including golf on the hotel’s 18-hole course, tennis, kayaking or cycling.
Painters are required to arrange transport to other painting locations in their own vehicles, or car share with others.
Should the weather be unfavourable on any of the days, there is a shoreside room at the hotel available for use.
